2022 Tandem Foundation Awards $40,000 to Davis Schools

Eric Roe speaks to teachers at Tandem Foundation Reception

After a two-year break during the pandemic, Tandem was glad to bring back the Tandem Foundation Grants Awards Reception for 2022. The reception took place on Wednesday, May 25th and awarded $40,000 to various Davis public school programs.

This year, the Tandem Foundation received 33 requests totaling $65,767. The Tandem partners, John Whitcombe and Bill Roe, decided again this year, to award an additional $10,000 in memory of their late partner, Paul Makley, for a total of $40,000 in grant money. Tandem was delighted to fully fund 27 requests and partially fund 3 requests totaling $40,000.

Tandem Advisory Board Members, Eric Roe and Sandra Whitcombe, spoke at the reception on behalf of their fathers (John Whitcombe and Bill Roe) and DJUSD teachers, principals, and board members each shared how the grants would support students.

It was a wonderful evening in support of Davis students and Tandem is honored to have been able to continue the Tandem foundation for 21 years. It is our hope that the Tandem Foundation will be able to continue our tradition of supporting our community and its youth for many years to come.
