palmlogowinters Chris Cain
Palms Playhouse, Winters CA
Chris Cain’s jazz-tinged, blues soaked guitar and deep, warm vocals have the maturity and authenticity of bluesmen many years his senior. His expressive style is the result of a lifetime of study and the relentless pursuit of music mastery. For the past couple decades and more Cain has been recognized as an extraordinary talent both as a player and as singer. The obvious starting off point for Cain is the blues of BB King, but Cain as a guitarist can stretch out in so many directions of electric blues. Cain’s extraordinary voice, which he says just came out of him after listening to lots of Jimmy Witherspoon, Big Joe Turner and BB King, is really one of a kind- amazingly expressive and powerful. It’s been awhile since we’ve had Chris Cain back here at The Palms, but we are thrilled to hear one of the great blues artists of today.
