$5 Pet Adoption Friday – February 15, 2013

Have you ever considered adopting a pet? Today is $5 Friday at the Yolo County Sheriff’s Animal Services Shelter in Woodland. All cats and dogs are available for an adoption fee of $5.

According to Woodland’s paper the Daily Democrat:

Potential pet owners can see the pets currently available on Pet Harbor.com, Facebook at www.facebook.com/YCAS.Shelter or www.petfinder.com.

There are additional fees of $15 for a dog license and $8 for a rabies vaccine for animals of appropriate age. People who have a dog at home and are considering another, please bring the current pet to meet and greet.

Adoption processing takes place at two different times: The first is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (adoption applications must be turned in by 12:30 p.m.); and the second is from 2 to 5:30 p.m. (adoption applications must be turned in by 5:30 p.m).

The Animal Shelter is located at 140-C Tony Diaz Drive, Woodland. For information, call 668-5287, ext. 0, during office hours.

If you rent an apartment or house, be sure to check with your landlord or in the terms of the lease to see what it says about the pet policy. Many places, including some Tandem Properties complexes allow pets, though you may be required to pay an additional pet deposit.
