Break a World Record and Raise Awareness for Heart Disease on February 7th

If you’re tired of apartment-hunting, we’ve got a fun diversion for you. According to a recent release from UC Davis:
On Friday, February 7, UC Davis is launching UC Davis Wears Red Day, a new campus-wide initiative to help raise awareness in the UC Davis community about heart disease, the leading killer of women and men in the United States. As part of the initiative, UC Davis will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest heart formation, currently held at 11,166 people. The entire UC Davis community is invited to come together on Hutchison Field at noon on February 7th, dressed in red. UC Davis red heart T-shirts are on sale now for $5 at the UC Davis Store, Memorial Union. They will also be available on-site the day of the event, and people are invited to attend even if they forget to wear red. Following the Guinness World Record attempt, Alpha Pi Sigma sorority and the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program will host a Battle Heart Disease Fair in the Pavilion, 1–3 p.m. This event will be a great opportunity for our campus to show how the small acts of individuals, when multiplied by the power of an entire community, can have a HUGE impact.
